Given that the Anchors represent 100,000 students and 60,000 employees, even a small percentage change in their transit use could have a big impact.
The Partnership is discussing transit outreach options with St. Paul Smart Trips, a nonprofit organization that promotes use of transit and other sustainable transportation options, to promote transit use among Anchor Partners along the Central Corridor in St Paul. St. Paul Smart Trips developed a customized outreach program for several residential neighborhoods and are looking to expand their employer outreach options.
Concurrent with the opening of the Green Line we launched a mass communication effort including pre-written correspondence for each Anchor. We have continued to share general communication from Metro Transit and personal stories about employee and student use of transit. We have also included visits to employers, introductory sessions to students, and sharing maps and apps.
